President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met yesterday with citizens at the People's Office in Skopje, receiving people who wanted to share personal problems and successes, voice criticism or praise, and present ideas for institutional improvements.
The issues citizens brought forward
Visitors described obstacles and injustices in attempts to gain employment, pointing to cases where professional expertise and competence were undervalued while family, political and party ties were preferred.
Several attendees raised concerns about neglect of the needs of persons with disabilities, inadequate care and their exclusion from decision‑making processes.
Others complained about a frequent lack of interest from state and local authorities in using proven expertise from outside government structures and proposed initiatives aimed at addressing institutional inconsistencies.
The President's Cabinet reported the meetings and said citizens also used the occasion to offer concrete proposals and initiatives to strengthen good practices and correct anomalies in institutions.
