Parents of five children removed from Veles home after inspection
Police and social workers inspected a Veles household and removed five children after concluding the home lacked basic living conditions.
On August 8, 2026 at 14:26 police officers together with representatives of the Center for Social Work carried out an inspection of a home in Veles where a couple lived with their five minor children. During the visit officials found that the dwelling did not meet basic living conditions required for care and upbringing of the children.
A public prosecutor was notified about the situation, and the parents were subjected to an official interview with authorities as part of the immediate procedure.
Health checks and temporary placement
The five children were taken to General Hospital Veles for medical examination to establish their health status. After the check-ups, they were transferred into the care of the Centre for Support of Foster Families "SOS Children's Village".
Authorities stated that, following a full clarification and documentation of the circumstances, appropriate charges or reports will be filed in line with legal procedures.
The case remains under investigation as social services and police continue their joint work to determine any further steps needed to secure the children's welfare.
