Deadline extended for freshman applications to state student dorms
University Student Council says the new deadline is September 22, 2026 at 23:59 after the ministry approved the request.
The University Student Council at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje announced that, following requests from incoming freshmen, it asked the Ministry of Education and Science to extend the application deadline for accommodation in state student dormitories — and the ministry approved the request.
The Council said the measure was taken to give students who complete enrollment during the second enrollment period more time to obtain a certificate of regular student status and submit their housing applications on time.
"The purpose is for students who will finish enrollment in the second enrollment period to have enough time to secure a certificate of regular student and to submit their application on time," the University Student Council (USC-UKIM) said.
The new application deadline has been set for September 22, 2026, at 23:59. The Council urged freshmen to prepare the required documentation and apply before the extended cut-off.
The extension covers applications for placement in state-run dormitories; students should check the procedures announced by the university and the Ministry of Education and Science for submitting electronic or paper applications.
The Council framed the change as a practical step to reduce pressure on newcomers who register during the second enrollment wave and to ensure fair access to student accommodation.
