Trial over Pulse nightclub fire in Kochani continues in Idrizovo
Cross-examination of construction experts from UKIM is due to continue as prosecution nears the end of its evidence.

The trial over the Pulse nightclub fire in Kochani will continue today in the Idrizovo courtroom at the Basic Criminal Court Skopje. The blaze, which occurred on March 16, 2025, claimed 63 lives and injured more than 200 people.
The case is in the evidentiary phase and today's session is scheduled for cross-examination by the defence of the team of construction experts who prepared the prosecution's structural report.
At the previous hearing the defence posed a series of questions to the experts, professor Goran Markovski and professor Dusica Andjelkovikj, focusing on the urban-legal status of the building where the club operated.
Court procedure and next steps
Judge Dijana Gruevska-Ilievska is presiding over the trial, while the indictment is represented by a team of 15 public prosecutors. The experts being questioned come from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (UKIM).
Once the examination of the construction expert team concludes, prosecutors expect to finish their evidentiary presentation. After that, the defence will begin introducing its own evidence.
The March 16, 2025 fire happened during a performance by the musical group DNK and remains one of the deadliest peacetime tragedies in the country’s recent history.
