Tetovo mayor: City Stadium reconstruction is in an advanced phase
Mayor Bilal Kasami says the project is in an advanced stage and the rebuilt venue will be able to host international football matches.

Tetovo's mayor, Bilal Kasami, announced on social media new details about the project to rebuild the City Stadium in Tetovo. The update, posted on 13.10.2026 at 15:39, confirms that work has moved into an advanced phase.
According to Kasami, one of the city's main sports facilities — located beneath the Šar Mountains — is undergoing a thorough reconstruction. "Step by step, towards a modern stadium," he wrote, underlining the progress being made on the site.
Major overhaul with international ambitions
The reconstruction is extensive: officials say that almost nothing will remain of the old structure as the venue is rebuilt into a modern football stadium. The renewed facility is being designed to meet standards that would allow Tetovo to host international matches.
Local authorities describe the project as one of the municipality's priorities for sports infrastructure and an investment in the city's sporting profile. Work on the ground is continuing and the mayor has shared regular updates on social networks to document the progress.
Residents and football supporters in Tetovo are watching the site closely as the city prepares to gain a contemporary stadium that aims to raise both local competition levels and the town's visibility in regional football.
