Richarlison transfer to Vasco da Gama collapses
Tottenham agreed a fee with Vasco da Gama, but Richarlison and the Brazilian club could not agree personal terms before the window closed.
Richarlison's proposed move from Tottenham Hotspur to Vasco da Gama collapsed at the final hour after the two clubs failed to reach an agreement with the player over personal terms. Tottenham had already come to terms with the Brazilian side over a transfer fee for the 29-year-old striker.
Deal falls apart over personal conditions
Negotiations with Richarlison himself did not produce an agreement, meaning he will not be returning to his homeland this summer. The Brazilian transfer window closed on Friday, removing the possibility of completing the deal.
Earlier this season Richarlison was left out of Tottenham's Premier League registration and has not been training with the first team. Those factors had intensified the player's desire to move back to Brazil.
Richarlison had expressed a wish to join Vasco da Gama and wear the club's shirt — a team he has supported since childhood — but talks over his salary and other personal conditions stalled.
With the Brazilian window shut, the move will not proceed for now and the player's situation remains unresolved ahead of the coming weeks.
