Pro‑Russian hackers claim attacks on supermarket refrigeration systems

Two pro‑Russian hacker collectives, NoName057(16) and Zet‑Pentest, have claimed responsibility for cyberattacks that targeted refrigeration systems in hundreds of supermarkets across Europe.

Claims posted on Telegram, then removed

The groups published their claims on Telegram channels that were later taken down. As part of the announcement, they released 2,500 lines from a database belonging to the Danish engineering company Danfoss.

The leaked material reportedly contains entries from the company's database that are said to include usernames and passwords tied to systems Danfoss maintains for supermarket cooling infrastructure.

The hackers did not provide an independent way to verify the full scope of the data or to demonstrate which specific retailers were affected. Authorities and the affected companies have not been named in the claims.

Security experts warn that access to operational credentials for refrigeration systems can threaten food safety and supply continuity if abused, but attribution and impact assessments typically require forensic analysis by affected companies and national cybersecurity agencies.
