Shooting at Arachinovo entrance injures 48-year-old from Skopje

A man was brought to a Skopje hospital after being shot near the entrance to the village of Arachinovo; police say an acquaintance in a vehicle opened fire.

Police reported that shortly after 01:50 on 08 September 2026 they received information from the Public Health Institution "St. Naum Ohridski" that a 48-year-old man identified as A.M. from Skopje had been brought to the facility with gunshot wounds.

“According to the report, he sustained the injuries at the entrance to the village of Arachinovo, Skopje region, after, from a vehicle, a person who knew him, and who was accompanied by another person, fired at him with a firearm. Measures are being taken to clarify the case,” the police said.

The statement indicates the shooter was in a vehicle and was familiar to the victim, but provides no names or information about the condition of the injured man. Police added that investigative actions are under way to establish the circumstances and identify those involved.

Authorities have not released further operational details. The case remains under active investigation by Skopje police.
