Putin meets Masoud Pezeshkian in Avaza and offers Russian assistance
Putin told Masoud Pezeshkian that Russia is ready to help, while the Iranian president criticised the United States and said negotiations are in a finalization phase.

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Avaza for talks focused on finding a solution to the escalating crisis in the Middle East.
Putin told his Iranian counterpart that Moscow was prepared to assist. "You know our position, Mr President, and we are ready to do everything in our power to help you in resolving this situation," Putin said.
Pezeshkian responded with criticism of the American side and described ongoing negotiations as difficult but still active.
Finalizing proposals and mediators
Pezeshkian said the Iranian delegation has been trying to advance the negotiation process despite setbacks. "We are trying to move the process forward. Every time we have negotiated with them (the US), they have attacked us again. Nevertheless, we will not leave the negotiating table, and now we are in the phase of finalizing — we have put forward certain proposals, the Americans have presented new proposals, and we have made some adjustments; once that is completed, we will be able to sit with the mediators and finalize these proposals," Pezeshkian said.
The meeting in Avaza brought the two presidents together to discuss possible steps toward a negotiated settlement, with Russia offering diplomatic support and Iran stressing the need to continue talks despite tensions with the United States.
Both leaders framed the talks as part of ongoing efforts to reach an agreement through diplomacy; Pezeshkian indicated that Tehran has submitted proposals and is preparing to consult with mediators after adjustments are agreed.
