Rafael Camara to drive for Haas in Formula 1 in 2027
20-year-old Ferrari academy driver Rafael Camara will join Haas and partner Oliver Bearman; official confirmation expected next week.

Rafael Camara, a 20-year-old Brazilian member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, has been selected to race for Haas in the 2027 Formula 1 season and will team up with British prospect Oliver Bearman.
The agreement between Haas and Ferrari was reached during the Singapore Grand Prix weekend, and an official announcement is expected during the coming week.
Camara replaces Esteban Ocon at the American team
Camara will take the seat currently held by French driver Esteban Ocon, whose departure from the American squad at the end of 2026 was already announced. The move opens a pathway for one of the sport's most talked-about young talents to step into a full-time F1 race seat.
Team officials were reportedly impressed by Camara's progression in Formula 2 and by his outings in older Haas machinery during test sessions. Those performances, together with his standing inside Ferrari's driver programme, appear to have convinced Haas that he merits a promotion to the top category.
The signing continues Haas's recent pattern of bringing young drivers into the team and underscores the ongoing collaboration between Ferrari and Haas over driver development and technical matters. Fans and paddock observers expect the team to publish formal details and timing as soon as the agreement is made public.
