Head of Kavadarci savings bank branch suspected of embezzlement and abuse
Prosecutors say a branch manager allegedly arranged fictitious loans and failed to record deposits, prompting searches and a request to seize her passport.

The Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Kavadarci has launched proceedings against one person and carried out pre‑investigative actions on suspicion of several criminal offences: Abuse of official position and authority; Damage and unauthorized access to a computer system; and Embezzlement in the service.
Prosecutors say the suspect, who served as the head of a savings bank branch in Kavadarci, allegedly carried out a series of fraudulent operations over an extended period. She is accused of arranging fictitious loans in the names of customers and failing to properly record their deposits, thereby obtaining an unlawful pecuniary benefit.
Searches, seizures and employment termination
Acting on a court order obtained at the prosecutor's request, investigators conducted multiple searches yesterday and seized documentation and other items as evidence. The measures were taken to secure material relevant to the ongoing probe.
After the alleged scheme came to light, the savings bank terminated the woman's employment at the branch.
Because of a perceived risk of flight, the prosecutor submitted a proposal for precautionary measures: confiscation of the suspect's passport and an obligation for her to report regularly to the court.
The Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Kavadarci said it will continue investigative steps to fully examine the case.
