Albania registers record foreign arrivals in June — 445,846 visitors

Albania recorded a sharp rise in foreign visitors in June, when 445,846 people from abroad stayed in accommodation facilities, the National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) reported. That figure represents an increase of 20.6 percent compared with the same month last year, while the total number of visitors rose by 17 percent.

Coastal resorts and hotels drive the rebound

The number of overnight stays grew by 9.8 percent year-on-year. Coastal areas showed the strongest growth: in June they hosted 323,426 foreign visitors, an increase of 27.4 percent compared with the previous year.

Hotels and other accommodation establishments received 401,836 foreign visitors, up from 336,226 in June 2025, signalling a recovery in commercial lodging providers after the previous season.

Visitors from Kosovo made up the single largest national group at 15 percent of foreign arrivals, followed by Italy at 14 percent and Poland at 13 percent. France and Germany each accounted for 7 percent, while travellers from other countries comprised the remaining 44 percent.

Despite the overall growth, there have been reports of cancellations linked to recent protests in Albania, with some reservations being called off as visitors react to unrest.
