Russian drone hits passenger bus in Nikopol, five killed

A Russian drone struck a passenger bus in the city of Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region overnight, killing at least five people and wounding seven, regional authorities said.

Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional administration, said the drone hit the bus directly while passengers were on board. "According to preliminary information, five people were killed and at least seven were injured. The Russians hit the bus with a drone," he wrote.

Hanzha added that the seven wounded are under medical supervision and are receiving necessary care. Regional officials published photos showing a bus with shattered windows and a partially torn bodywork.

Mykola Lukashuk, president of the Dnipropetrovsk regional council, said the vehicle was a regular civilian route bus and that people were simply going about their daily business when the strike occurred. "This morning the enemy attacked a passenger bus in the Nikopol area, where people were simply carrying out their everyday duties," he wrote.

Authorities are investigating the incident; further details, including a full list of victims and the circumstances of the strike, have not yet been released.
