Russian strikes cut power in Kyiv and four Ukrainian regions
Ukrenergo says outages hit Kyiv and the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions after overnight strikes on energy facilities.

Outages were reported this morning across Kyiv and in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions after repeated strikes on Ukraine's energy network, the national transmission operator said.
Ukrenergo posted on Telegram that Russian forces continued attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities overnight, causing interruptions to power supply in the capital and several regions.
Restoration work started where it is safe
“Where security conditions allow, repair and restoration work has already begun,” Ukrenergo said, adding that teams are doing everything possible to return electricity supply as soon as they can.
Teams from the transmission operator have been mobilised to assess and repair damage to lines and substations, but access to some sites remains limited by ongoing hostilities. Officials warned that recovery times will depend on the security situation at each location.
The outages follow several days of shelling against energy infrastructure, part of a broader campaign that Kyiv says targets civilian power systems and complicates efforts to keep homes and essential services supplied with electricity.
