Ruzica Milosheska Brchioska shines at Independence Day concert
Area’s frontwoman combined a striking stage look and powerful vocals at the central Independence Day celebration in Skopje.

Ruzica Milosheska Brchioska stood out at the central Independence Day celebration in Skopje with a performance that reminded audiences why Area remains one of the country's enduring rock bands.
The group delivered a set that quickly circulated online; video clips shared across social networks were also reposted on the band’s page. In a short statement the band wrote on their official Facebook page: "It was an honor and a pleasure for us to perform at the event on the occasion of the Independence Day of Macedonia."
Timeless voice, unmistakable stage presence
At the microphone, Ruzica — known for her powerful voice on timeless hits such as "Site moi sliki", "Neshto nedostasuva", "Frekvencija na ljubovta" and "Odvedi me" — appeared in an elegant, avant‑garde black dress with layered flounces and lace trim. Her signature dark hair and bangs completed the look that captured attention throughout the program.
Although Ruzica has entered her sixth decade, she drew admiration for her slim silhouette and youthful energy. She has repeatedly said that a vegetarian diet, inner calm and a balanced life are the foundations of her vitality.
Offstage, Ruzica balances music with a long professional career. A graduate electrical engineer, she works as the head of a service unit at ESM (ELEM). Area — the band she formed together with her husband Ivica Brchioski — continues to combine those responsibilities with regular live appearances that celebrate quality Macedonian rock.
