SDSM criticizes ZNAM on two-year anniversary, accuses it of ties to tenders
SDSM says ZNAM betrayed voters after two years and calls the party "a satellite of Mickoski", accusing it of links to public tenders.
The Social Democratic Union (SDSM) issued sharp criticism of the newcomer party ZNAM on the occasion of ZNAM's second anniversary, accusing it of abandoning voters and effectively aligning with the ruling majority.
SDSM's statement says ZNAM first broke away from SDSM and then, in SDSM's view, betrayed citizens who had expected political change. The opposition party argues that ZNAM today is part of the governing majority and calls it "a satellite of Mickoski."
Allegations over tenders and staffing
Rather than delivering the reforms it once promised, SDSM charges, ZNAM has become associated with the awarding of public tenders and personnel appointments inside state institutions. The party's release lists a series of political accusations aimed at ZNAM's leadership.
The criticism came as ZNAM marked two years since its founding and published its own report summarizing work from the last twenty-four months.
SDSM said the shift in ZNAM's role undermines voter expectations and warned that cooperation with the ruling forces risks turning the new movement into an instrument for patronage rather than change.
