Sevilla beat Valencia 1–0 as late goal decides LaLiga clash

Sevilla edged Valencia 1-0 at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on Friday, September 11, 2026, claiming the win with a late strike in the first match of LaLiga's fifth round.

The hosts controlled much of the game from the outset, creating the clearer chances, while Valencia sat deep and looked to hit on the counter.

Match report

The deadlock lasted until the 81st minute, when Sevilla finally broke through to take the lead. After that goal the Andalusian side managed the game and protected the advantage until the final whistle.

Stole Dimitrievski started in goal for Valencia but could not prevent the decisive strike. Carlos Corberán's team arrived at matchday five having collected only one point so far this season.

The result prolongs Valencia's difficult start to the campaign, while Sevilla take three important points at home and move on in search of better league form.
