Sevilla win away at Athletic Bilbao to make it two wins from two
Sevilla beat Athletic Bilbao 1:3 away to record a second straight La Liga victory on 22.08.2026 19:30.

Sevilla opened the La Liga season with a second straight victory on 22.08.2026 19:30, beating Athletic Bilbao 1:3 (0:1) away after having defeated Rayo Vallecano at home in the first round.
Athletic started the match stronger with several dangerous moves in the opening stages, including attempts by Gerenbarena and Ignasio Vilijams. The game turned when Berchiche committed a last-man foul and was sent off, leaving Bilbao with ten players.
A costly error followed for the hosts: goalkeeper Unai Simon lost possession to Oso, who converted to put Sevilla ahead 0:1. Despite being a man down, Athletic sought an equaliser through Sanset, Kanales and Guruzeta before the interval, but the score remained unchanged at half-time.
Decisive second half
Sevilla came out organised after the break and punished Athletic on the counter. Edjuke raced down the right wing and finished clinically to increase the lead, and the tie was effectively sealed in the 63rd minute.
Oso then capitalised on another defensive mistake, played the ball to the edge of the box where Romero struck past Unai Simon to make it an emphatic 0:3. Athletic only managed a consolation goal through Paredes in the 70th minute, and the match ended 1:3.
The result leaves Sevilla with two wins from two at the start of La Liga, extending their perfect start to the season.
