SCHILLER opens medical device factory in Tomislavgrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Swiss group SCHILLER has launched a new production facility in Tomislavgrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina, aimed at manufacturing medical devices for export markets. The move is intended to expand local high-tech production and create opportunities for skilled employment in the region.

Production, R&D and services under one roof

The plant will operate under the company Ergosana, established by the SCHILLER group, and will concentrate on devices for stress-electrocardiography — equipment used to monitor heart function during physical exertion. In addition to manufacturing, the site will house departments for development, quality control, servicing and marketing.

Company managers said the investment will open new jobs and offer professional training to the local workforce, although they did not specify the exact number of planned hires. Construction of the factory began in 2024 and the opening marks completion of a major stage in the project.

At the inauguration, SCHILLER’s founder and president, Alfred Eugen Schiller, attended and underlined the importance of innovation and high-quality service for the company’s growth.

SCHILLER currently employs approximately 1.400 people worldwide and is internationally present in the production of diagnostic and cardiac monitoring medical devices. The Tomislavgrad facility is positioned as a further step in the group’s strategy to expand manufacturing capacity outside Switzerland.
