Siljanovska‑Davkova posted on X in English, praising Serbian citizens and a peaceful transfer of power after the Student List’s projected victory.

President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova congratulated Serbian citizens on the outcome of the early parliamentary elections, praising what she called a demonstration of democratic maturity and a peaceful transfer of political power.
Siljanovska-Davkova posted the message on the social network X and addressed her remarks directly to Serbian voters and to the manner in which power changed hands. The post was written in English.
Election result and context
According to projections, the opposition Student List won the snap parliamentary vote, taking an estimated 51-52 percent of the vote and 138-140 of the 250 parliamentary seats, compared with 103-105 seats for Aleksandar Vučić’s list. Vučić publicly acknowledged defeat even before official results were released.
The elections came after nearly two years of student-led protests in Serbia focused on corruption and the governing authorities.
In her post on X the president wrote: "Congratulations on the outcome of today's elections in Serbia! The Serbian citizens demonstrated democratic maturity through a peaceful transfer of political power" — a message she directed to the citizens and to the peaceful change in government.
