Amar Shabic (27), son of singer Lejla Leki, killed in traffic accident near Tuzla
Lejla Shabic received a portrait of her and her late son and returned to performing two months after the crash.

Amar Shabic (27), the son of Bosnian singer Lejla Shabic — known professionally as Lejla Leki — was killed in a severe traffic accident near Tuzla, authorities and family reports say. Amar worked as a bus driver in the city’s public transport system.
Emotional tribute and return to the stage
In the days after the crash a video circulated on social media showing a visibly moved Lejla receiving a personal gift: an artistic portrait that depicted her together with her late son. When she saw the painting she was unable to hold back her tears.
The tragedy came roughly two months after the singer lost her own father, compounding a period of intense personal loss for the family.
Despite her grief, Lejla returned to performing two months after Amar’s death. At one of her early shows she dedicated the song "Sine moj" to her child and prefaced the performance by saying "For all sons," a remark that brought many in the audience to tears.
Addressing the crowd that night, Lejla spoke about how she would carry the loss with her: "As the mother of my beloved and never-fully-mourned son, I will honour all our customs and rites. In life I will continue on with my work and social life, with the people who stood by me. No one will ever be able to erase my sorrow and pain from the soul. Wherever I go, even if I sing from the heart, in my chest the pain and sadness for my son will remain."
The family and fans continue to share messages of sympathy online as details of the accident near Tuzla are still being remembered by the regional music community.
