A woman from Skopje reported that her husband, during divorce proceedings, followed them and sent locations of their son; the Ministry of Internal Affairs says it is taking measures.

A woman from Skopje reported to the police that her husband, from whom she is currently divorcing, had been following her and her son and sending her information about the child’s locations in order to intimidate her, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

The report states that the complaint was filed on 05.08.2026 at 17:00 with the Skopje Police Department by a 46-year-old woman. She stated that her husband, identified by the initials Lj.S., had been following the family and, via a mobile application, sending photographs and data about the locations of her son, and through a person who knew the child had issued threats.

"On 05.08.2026 at 17:00 in the Skopje Police Department, a 46-year-old woman reported that her husband Lj.S., with whom she was in divorce proceedings, had been following her and sending photographs via a mobile application of the locations of her son, and through a person who knew her son, had issued threats. Measures are being taken to clarify the case," said the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Police takes measures

The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirms that proceedings have been opened and that measures are being taken to fully clarify the circumstances. So far there are no published details about any detentions or indictments.

The woman reported to the authorities after receiving repeated messages and photographs that tracked the child’s movements. To protect the minor’s identity, the police have not disclosed further personal details while the investigation is ongoing.
