Skopje to host 23rd Mediterranean Cadet Handball Championship in April 2027
The Executive Committee awarded Skopje the tournament on August 27, 2026; cadets born in 2010 and younger may compete.
Skopje has been chosen to host the 23rd Mediterranean Cadet Handball Championship, which will take place from April 18 to April 25, 2027. The tournament will bring together national teams made up of cadet players born in 2010 or later.
Decision and organisers
The Executive Committee of the Mediterranean Handball Confederation unanimously awarded the event to North Macedonia at its meeting on August 27, 2026. The Handball Federation of North Macedonia will act as the host and organiser of the championship.
Competition eligibility is limited to players born in 2010 and younger, ensuring the event focuses on the cadet age group and the next generation of regional talent.
Regarding the selection, the federation commented: "The awarding of the organisation is another confirmation of the trust in the Handball Federation of North Macedonia and its organisational capacities to stage international handball competitions," said the Handball Federation of North Macedonia.
Preparations will now shift to venues, logistics and the competition schedule as the federation begins planning for teams, officials and accreditation. The announcement gives Skopje several months to finalise details before teams arrive in spring 2027.
