Skopje, October 28, 2026 — Construction has begun on a new parking area behind the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia building in Skopje, and work is currently ongoing on the site.

Assembly President Afrim Gashi visited the construction site today and posted about the inspection on Facebook. "Earlier today I carried out an inspection of the construction works for the Assembly's parking area, where I closely familiarized myself with the course of the works and the progress achieved," Gashi wrote.

Works aimed at improving infrastructure

According to the President's statement, the project is intended to improve working conditions for lawmakers and staff by providing the necessary infrastructure for the legislative body's operation.

On site, crews were continuing earthworks and preparatory activities for the future parking surfaces; officials did not announce a timetable for completion.

No exact completion date for the parking area has been released. The Assembly administration has so far limited public comments to descriptions of progress and the project's stated goal of enhancing functionality at the parliamentary complex.
