Assembly holds 125th session with 25 items on agenda

Draft laws on foreign investment screening, minimum wage, procurement and national education and research programmes are scheduled for debate.

Assembly holds 125th session with 25 items on agenda

The Assembly will hold its 125th session today, with 25 items listed on the agenda covering a wide range of legislative proposals and administrative decisions.

Key items under discussion

Parliamentarians will debate in second reading the Draft Law on Reporting and Screening of Foreign Direct Investments, the Supplemented Draft Law on the State Audit Office, and amendments to the Public Procurement Law.

Several proposals are on the agenda under an accelerated procedure, including changes to laws on housing; senior executives; administrative civil servants; public sector employees; salaries and allowances of elected and appointed officials; forests; and the Law on Subsidised Student Meals.

In first reading MPs will consider proposed amendments to laws on public procurement, the environment, foreign affairs, personal income tax, child protection, state awards, the minimum wage and labour relations, as well as a Draft Law on the Protection of Critical Civilian Infrastructure.

The session will also include discussion of the proposed National Programme for Higher Education with accompanying measures, and the proposed National Programme for Scientific-Research Activity with proposed measures.

Lawmakers are expected to also vote on decisions to change the composition of parliamentary committees, to publish a public call for the selection of members of the Council for Civil Oversight, and to open a public competition for appointment of a member of the Regulatory Commission for Energy, Water Services and Waste Management.
