The Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia will hold sessions of four parliamentary bodies today: the Committee on Political System and Inter-Community Relations, the Committee on Foreign Policy and Foreign Trade, the Committee on European Affairs, and the Budget Council of the Assembly.

On the agenda of the Committee on Political System and Inter-Community Relations are the Annual Report on the work of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption for 2025 and several special reports by the Anti-Corruption Commission examining financing irregularities in municipal election campaigns. The special reports cover mayoral and council elections in several municipalities and specific repeat mayoral races in 2026: Gostivar, Vrapchishte, Mavrovo and Rostusha, and Centar Zhupa.

The committee will also review the Annual Report of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption on implementation of the National Strategy for the Prevention of Corruption and Conflict of Interest 2021–2025, covering the period 01.01.2025–31.12.2025, together with the Final Report on implementation for the same period.

Members will discuss the proposed National Strategy for the Prevention of Corruption and Conflict of Interest 2026–2030, which sets the framework for the next five-year cycle of anti-corruption measures.

Foreign agreements and investment screening

The Committee on Foreign Policy and Foreign Trade is scheduled to consider draft laws to ratify a convention related to the Bureau of the European Conference of Civil Aviation, a protocol between the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania on implementation of the Agreement on the take-over of persons staying without authorization, as well as agreements with Slovenia and Portugal on cooperation in the field of defence.

Both the Committee on Foreign Policy and Foreign Trade and the Committee on European Affairs will have the Draft Law on Notification and Verification of Foreign Direct Investments on their agendas in first reading.

The Budget Council will examine the Assembly's proposed Strategic Plan for 2027–2031, a decision to give financial consent for the Annual Employment Plan of the Assembly Secretariat for 2027, and the Assembly's draft budget for 2027.
