Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met citizens who raised employment problems for people with disabilities

President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova held meetings with citizens who approached her and the Presidential Office to share personal problems, successes and suggestions, and to voice both criticism and praise of institutions and public practices.
In a post on Facebook she summarized issues raised during those encounters, saying many attendees focused on barriers and injustices linked to attempts to gain employment and on how competence is sometimes sidelined.
What participants reported
"Some visitors pointed out to me the difficulties and injustices they face when trying to find employment, examples of undervaluing expertise and competence and overvaluing familial, political and party affiliation; others, of confronting the neglect of the special needs of persons with disabilities and insufficient care for them, as well as their exclusion from decision-making processes; others, the frequent lack of interest by state and local authorities in using their proven external knowledge," Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova wrote on Facebook.
The meetings brought forward a mix of concrete complaints and proposals: participants described being overlooked in hiring, having their professional qualifications ignored, and feeling excluded from consultations where their experience could be used.
Siljanovska-Davkova's post emphasized that attendees also offered ideas and initiatives aimed at correcting institutional inconsistencies and improving existing practices, while some expressed support for measures that would increase inclusion of people with disabilities in public life.
