Spotify Camp Nou to host 2029 Champions League final with 104,600 capacity
UEFA chose Barcelona’s Spotify Camp Nou for the 2 June 2029 final; the rebuilt stadium will hold 104,600 spectators, a 21st-century record.

The UEFA Executive Committee decided at its meeting in Thessaloniki that Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona will host the 2029 UEFA Champions League final. The match is scheduled for Saturday, 2 June 2029, and the renovated Spotify Camp Nou topped Wembley in the stadium selection race.
Capacity, logistics and political backing
When the reconstruction of Spotify Camp Nou is completed, the stadium will have a capacity of 104,600 spectators, which organizers say would make it the largest attendance for a Champions League final in the 21st century. Barcelona’s bid received formal support from the Barcelona City Council, the Government of Catalonia, the Government of Spain and the national football association, and benefited from transport links including the nearby Reus and Girona airports.
The choice means that two of the next three Champions League finals will be staged in Spain. The 2028 final has been scheduled for Allianz Arena in Munich.
Historically, the highest attendance recorded for a European club final occurred in 1960 at Hampden Park when Real and Eintracht drew 127,621 spectators. The previous high for a UEFA final in more recent decades was at the old Nou Camp in 1989, when Milan faced Steaua in front of 97,000 fans.
FC Barcelona confirmed the decision on social media. In the club’s announcement they wrote: "The UEFA Executive Committee has selected Spotify Camp Nou as the venue for the 2029 UEFA Men's Champions League Final 🏟️💙❤️" — FC Barcelona (tweet published September 15, 2026).
The decision caps a campaign by the host city and regional authorities to land one of football’s showcase events. Organizers now face the task of finishing reconstruction work and finalizing operational plans to accommodate one of the biggest crowds seen at a European final in decades.
