Stojanoski: Budget rebalance directs more funds to education, health and social protection

VMRO-DPMNE presented the government's budget rebalance as a targeted shift of spending toward public services, saying capital outlays increase by 14.5 percent and reach nearly 46 billion denars. The party highlighted several sectoral uplifts announced in the revision.

According to the party, capital grants to municipalities rise by about 1 billion and 683 million denars, a move they framed as support for local infrastructure and projects.

Key increases across social sectors

At a press briefing MP Bojan Stojanoski stressed that social transfers are a central priority in the rebalance, with total social transfers rising by 2 billion and 234 million denars. He framed the package as protecting citizens from shifts driven by short-term politics.

Stojanoski summarized the social and service increases in concrete numbers: "These are funds related to social allowances, health care and obligations to citizens that must not depend on day-to-day politics. The social protection function increases by about 1 billion and 838 million denars," he said.

Health spending is increased by around 1 billion and 811 million denars, while education receives more than 1 billion denars in additional funding. "Subsidies and transfers increase by 3 billion and 94 million denars," the MP added.

On agriculture and public wages, Stojanoski noted that the Agency for Financial Support to Agriculture receives an extra 1 billion and 331 million denars and the Ministry of Agriculture gets nearly 300 million denars more to strengthen water management and production stability. He also said: "The salaries and allowances in the public sector increase by 1 billion and 128 million denars, primarily to meet collective agreements and legal obligations."
