Tamara Volcheska — soldier and showstopper on Zvezdite na Grand
The 29-year-old from Gostivar won six jury votes, earned praise from Ceca and balances a music career with service in the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia.
Tamara Volcheska, a 29-year-old from Gostivar, stole the opening night of the new season of the region’s biggest music show, Zvezdite na Grand, with a powerful vocal performance and commanding stage presence. She earned six votes from the judging panel; Ceca praised her as "a true pearl coming from Macedonia." Aleksandar Milić – Mili will be her new mentor on the show.
Profession behind the image
Beyond the tattoos, striking style and nightclub appearances that the Macedonian public already recognizes, Volcheska juggles two very different careers. Alongside releasing tracks such as "Ne brojam do 3" and her Makfest entry "Kazhi mi da znam," she holds a professional post in the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia (ARM).
About serving in uniform she has said: "Being a woman soldier is a great honor and pleasure, and the uniform is a blessing and a power. Although it is a hard path with many sacrifices, when you do it for your people nothing is difficult." Volcheska has added that her colleagues in the ARM have given her strong support for her musical ambitions.
Volcheska draws lyrical material from her personal life. She wrote her Makfest song "Kazhi mi da znam" during an especially turbulent period when her parents were divorcing, channeling that pain into the music. She is also close to her younger sister, sharing the same birth date four years apart, and describes herself as someone who seeks challenges rather than comfort.
With her combination of authenticity, visible stage energy and an intimate backstory, Tamara Volcheska is already being discussed as one of the season’s favourites on Zvezdite na Grand.
