LNG tanker hit by two missiles in UAE territorial waters — one crew member injured
UKMTO reports the LNG tanker was attacked from a small boat near Al Mukalla; the ship suffered damage but continued sailing.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported an incident in the territorial waters of the United Arab Emirates in which a liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker was struck by two missiles. One crew member was lightly injured and the vessel sustained damage, but the ship has continued on its voyage, the agency said.
Details of the attack
The agency said the tanker was attacked from a small boat operating near the Yemeni city of Al Mukalla. It was reported that the boat carried at least seven men.
“Two projectiles were fired from the small boat towards the tanker, after which the tanker’s armed security team fired two warning shots at the small boat, forcing the boat’s crew to change course,” the agency said.
According to the statement, the security team’s action made the small boat break off the approach. The tanker — described as carrying liquefied natural gas — sustained damage but remained seaworthy and continued its planned route.
UKMTO did not provide further details about the attackers or their motive. Authorities have not been named in the statement and further information has not been released at this time.
