Collision around 2:00 a.m. on the Ilinden–Miladinovci road involved an Opel Corsa and a Hyundai i30; investigators have ordered autopsies.

Father and son killed in crash near Skopje International Airport; three others critically injured

Two people were killed and three seriously injured in a head-on collision that occurred around 2:00 a.m. on the Ilinden–Miladinovci road near the Brest police base, close to Skopje International Airport.

The crash involved an Opel Corsa driven by a 19-year-old man from Kumanovo and a Hyundai i30 driven by a 51-year-old resident of Marino. The two vehicles collided directly, according to initial reports.

On-scene investigation and autopsies ordered

At the scene, the driver of the Hyundai and his 18-year-old son were pronounced dead. Their 18-year-old daughter suffered serious injuries.

The 19-year-old driver of the Opel Corsa and his 18-year-old passenger sustained severe injuries and were taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.

A public prosecutor, an expert and investigative teams from the Ministry of Interior (MIA) carried out the on-site inspection, and orders for autopsy were issued for the deceased. Authorities are working to establish the causes and circumstances of the crash.
