Father allegedly ran over his one-year-old while reversing, then lied to hospital staff
Police say the father first told doctors the child fell from a roof; an on-site inspection found the opposite.

A 22-year-old man from Berane was arrested after police concluded his one-year-old child died after being struck by the man’s vehicle while he was reversing out of a garage, investigators said.
The child was brought to the Emergency Center in Berane without signs of life. The father, identified by initials A.I., initially told medical staff and police that the infant had fallen from the roof of an auxiliary prefabricated structure.
Police say a quick forensic check contradicted the father's story
Officers conducting a detailed on-site inspection and a criminal-technical examination grew suspicious of the account. The probe determined that while A.I. was reversing the vehicle from the garage he did not notice the child and ran over the infant, inflicting fatal injuries.
The vehicle has been seized for forensic examination, and the child’s body was transferred for autopsy to the Clinical Center of Montenegro.
By order of the state prosecutor, A.I. has been deprived of liberty on suspicion of serious offenses against traffic safety.
