Third day of clashes in Tirana — 71 police officers injured
Violence continued after student protests; State Police director urged parents and educators to prevent children being used as shields.

Clashes between police and protesters entered a third consecutive day in Tirana, with 71 police officers reported injured during violent incidents that accompanied three days of demonstrations.
At a press conference, State Police Director General Skender Hita appealed to parents and educators, saying, "not to allow children and pupils to be used as shields in violent actions aimed against institutions and private property."
Student-led protests and government response
The unrest followed student demonstrations in the capital. Prime Minister Edi Rama responded to the wave of protests by saying he does not plan to submit his resignation.
Authorities have so far released the total number of police injuries but have not provided a full public tally of injuries among demonstrators. Officials described the incidents as violent episodes during a concentrated period of protest activity in Tirana.
The situation remains tense as both sides continue to exchange statements and officials urge restraint while investigations into the clashes proceed.
