Arrest in Arachinovo: 44-year-old S.I. detained under central warrant
S.I. was detained on 16 September 2026 by the Sector for International Police Cooperation – Search Unit and the Intervention Police; he had been a fugitive since 2024.
On 16 September 2026 at about 05:30 a.m. police officers detained 44-year-old S.I. from Skopje in the village of Arachinovo, authorities said. The arrest was carried out by officers from the Sector for International Police Cooperation – Search Unit in cooperation with the Intervention Police.
The suspect had been sought under a central arrest warrant on charges of “Unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors,” under Article 215, paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code.
According to the case file, S.I. was sentenced to five years in prison for the offence and had been on the run since 2024.
Arrest and next steps
After being taken into custody in Arachinovo, S.I. was handed over to the Gazi Baba Police Station for general jurisdiction for further procedural action. The police said the operation was coordinated between the Sector for International Police Cooperation – Search Unit and the Intervention Police.
The authorities did not release additional details about the arrest location or whether any items were seized. The Gazi Baba Police Station will carry out the next investigative and custody procedures.
