Armed individuals detained in Pelister National Park after joint operation with Bitola police

Pelister National Park announced that a search operation was carried out after rangers reported armed individuals who had moved deep into the park, and that the suspects were detained following a joint action with police officers.
According to the park, the operation took place this week during evening hours, after rangers passed information to law-enforcement units and staff at the park. The park said the response was launched once those reports were received.
Joint action with Bitola police
Park officials said the arrests were made in cooperation with the Bitola Police Department (SWR Bitola). They did not publish further operational details, but emphasized that rangers initiated the procedure by notifying police about the presence of armed people in the protected area.
No figures on the number of detained persons, the types of weapons involved, or whether anyone was hurt have been released so far. Park representatives said they would provide more information when available.
Local authorities have opened an inquiry into the incident. Pelister National Park asked visitors to follow any safety instructions issued by park staff and police while the investigation continues.
