UHMR: Stable through Saturday, rain from Sunday — temperatures fall from Tuesday
UHMR predicts mostly settled weather through Saturday, with rain and localized heavy showers from Sunday and a drop in daytime temperatures beginning Tuesday.
Published: September 17, 2026, 06:30. The Hydrometeorological Service (UHMR) issued a multi-day weather forecast for North Macedonia that keeps generally stable conditions through Saturday and signals rain and cooler air later next week.
According to UHMR, the current pattern will remain mostly unchanged until Saturday, with no significant widespread precipitation expected and generally settled atmospheric conditions across the country.
Sunday brings a change: intermittent rain is forecast and some areas may experience unstable conditions with short, heavy downpours, lightning and strengthened winds. Localized heavier rain is expected on Monday in certain parts of the country.
Timing of the colder air
UHMR warned that the most notable shift will arrive after Monday. "From Tuesday, due to the influx of colder air from the north, daytime temperatures will decrease," the service said, indicating a clear drop in daytime values compared with the preceding days.
Residents should prepare for the brief period of unstable weather at the turn of the week and expect cooler temperatures from Tuesday onward. Local authorities and emergency services typically monitor areas prone to localized heavy rainfall and wind, and UHMR will issue updates if the situation intensifies.
