Part of John Kennedy Boulevard to be closed tomorrow as asphalt works begin
From 08:00 on 19 August 2026 the section to the roundabout will be closed in both directions for asphalt removal; motorists should clear parked cars and use alternative routes.
Skopje — Published 18 August 2026, 14:59. From 08:00 on 19 August 2026 the section of John Kennedy Boulevard up to the roundabout will be fully closed to traffic in both directions while crews begin road works to remove the old asphalt.
Authorities said the closure is a temporary traffic change introduced specifically for the start of milling and asphalt removal operations. The work is intended to prepare the carriageway for subsequent reconstruction.
Advice for drivers and local residents
Motorists and vehicle owners are urged to remove any parked cars from the affected section in good time and not to park along the boulevard during the works, so that the teams can operate without obstruction.
Road users are asked to exercise caution, follow posted signage and use side streets and alternative routes until the reconstruction is completed.
The municipality requests patience from commuters and warns that traffic delays can be expected in nearby streets while the asphalt is being scraped and removed.
