Mosquito spraying set for Aug. 27 and Aug. 31 in five southeastern municipalities
Center for Development of the Southeastern Planning Region announced larvicidal and adulticidal treatments in Bposilovo, Novo Selo, Strumica, Vasilevo and Valandovo.
The Center for Development of the Southeastern Planning Region announced scheduled mosquito-control operations on August 27 and August 31 in five municipalities in the country’s southeast.
Dates, places and methods
According to the notice, sprayings on August 27 will take place in Bposilovo, Novo Selo and Strumica, while treatments on August 31 are planned for Vasilevo and Valandovo. Authorities said the interventions will include both larvicidal and adulticidal disinsection.
"The activities are being carried out to reduce the mosquito population and to take preventive measures to protect public health," the Center for Development of the Southeastern Planning Region said in its statement.
Officials warned that if weather conditions prevent the operations on the scheduled dates, the treatments will be postponed to the next suitable period.
Residents in the affected municipalities were asked to follow any local instructions issued during the interventions and to take routine precautions while spraying is under way.
The announcement did not provide contact details for the campaign; the Center issued the notice as the organizing body for the region.
