Vardar visit Kumanovo — win would bring them within three points of Shkëndija

Only one match from the 7th round of the top domestic league is scheduled today: Bashkimi host Vardar in Kumanovo. Kick-off at the stadium is 16:00 on 12.09.2026, and the game carries extra weight for the visitors as a chance to dramatically shorten the gap to the leader.

Vardar chase points and momentum

Vardar arrive in Kumanovo led by coach "Grof" Božović, who is seeking a second win in his second match in charge. A victory would move the reigning champions to within three points of Shkëndija, tightening the title race after a quick reversal of form at the top of the table.

Shkëndija had built an eight-point cushion over Vardar earlier in the season, but that advantage shrank after their defeat to Tikvesh and yesterday's draw with Arsimi, opening the door for their old rivals to close in.

Bashkimi have shown clear improvement since a difficult start to the campaign. The Kumanovo side won away at Skopje in the previous round and, under coach Shaban Sulejman, will be motivated to secure another positive result against Vardar.

Form and expectations point to Vardar as favorites on paper, but football rarely follows logic, and Bashkimi's recent upturn means the hosts should not be underestimated.
