Vardar routs GRK Ohrid 27-18 at Jane Sandanski

Vardar produced a one-sided performance at Jane Sandanski to beat GRK Ohrid 27-18 (14-6) in the fifth round of the Macedonian Super League on October 3, 2026. The home side never allowed the visitors to get back into the game and collected a fifth win from as many matches.

Early control and a decisive second half

The match was effectively settled before the break: Vardar opened a gap of 8-3 by the 17th minute and went into the locker room with a 14-6 advantage. The second half only deepened the difference — by the 41st minute the scoreboard showed 22-11, and around the middle of the second period Vardar led 26-13 before easing to the final 27-18.

For GRK Ohrid this was their first defeat of the season; they remain with three wins and a draw. Vardar, coached by Ivan Cupic, extended their perfect start and reinforced their credentials as title contenders.

Vardar’s attack was shared: Abdelhak, Fadhuile and Ljevar each finished with five goals. On the visiting side Yoshida scored four.

Ohrid also suffered a personnel blow when Tomislav Jagurnovski left the match due to a finger injury and did not return to the court.

The victory at Jane Sandanski underlined Vardar’s depth and control in fast breaks and set plays, leaving little doubt about which team was superior on the night.
