Government: 35th independence programme cost €5.54 million

The Government presented a detailed report showing that the official programme marking the 35th anniversary of North Macedonia's independence cost a total of 5.54 million euros (340,509,749 denars). Government spokesperson Marija Miteva delivered the document, which the implementing company compiled and handed over.

The report runs 81 pages and covers the event concept, production and logistics, lists of artists and collaborators, and the financial framework for 18 events staged across 13 cities.

Financial breakdown and priorities

According to the financial overview, the single largest item was fees for artists and performers: 2.1 million euros (129,307,500 denars). Production costs amounted to 1.56 million euros (96,272,512 denars), logistics accounted for 951,000 euros (58,527,037 denars), and payments to collaborators were 871,000 euros (53,570,250 denars). The smallest allocation was for marketing — 46,000 euros (2,832,450 denars).

Miteva said the programme's main objective was to place Macedonian artists at the centre of the anniversary activities. One of the largest components was the music-and-stage caravan "Silno svetnal den," produced in co-production with OHO and presented in 11 towns.

The caravan visited Ohrid, Bitola, Veles, Krusevo, Kumanovo, Shtip, Prilep, Kichevo, Kavadarci, Probishtip and Skopje. The project included a LED floor onstage and engaged 41 Macedonian vocal performers, 20 dancers and actors, and an orchestra of 15 musicians.
