Vlen announces Skopje–Prishtina train in about 50 minutes next year
Vlen says railway companies from North Macedonia and Kosovo are preparing a direct line; the Skopje–Blace motorway will run in parallel.

The ruling party Vlen announced that the railway companies of North Macedonia and Kosovo are working to establish a direct rail link between Skopje and Prishtina, which the party expects to be put into service next year.
Planned travel time and parallel road works
According to Vlen, the new connection would cut the journey between Skopje and Prishtina to about 50 minutes, offering residents a faster option for commuting and travel.
"From Skopje to Prishtina by train in about 50 minutes. For citizens this would mean faster travel and another transport option, whether they are going to work, to study or to visit their relatives," Vlen said.
Vlen added that the rail initiative is being advanced in parallel with construction of the Skopje–Blace highway, a road project the party says will ease travel to Prishtina and improve freight transport.
The party stated that, as coalition partners in government, they are committed to bringing these projects to completion as soon as possible to deliver quicker journeys for passengers and more efficient goods movement for companies.
