VMRO-DPMNE: Fight against crime and corruption is increasing

VMRO-DPMNE sharply responded to a press conference held by Bogdanka Kuzeska of SDSM, accusing the opposition that it cannot understand how people are held accountable for crimes or corruption when their own cadres, led by Venko Filipche, were allegedly shielded by state bodies.

The ruling party said that since VMRO-DPMNE came to power the fight against crime and corruption has intensified.

Party cites a recent case as proof

In its statement the party pointed to a recent case involving an employee of SOZR who was, it said, caught by state institutions with marked money — an example VMRO-DPMNE presented as evidence that institutions are now doing their job.

VMRO-DPMNE criticised the previous SDSM administration and named Venko Filipche and Zoran Zaev as representatives of the period when, the party said, institutions failed to act.

“The system is changing, and institutions are doing their job. Such is the case of the employee in SOZR, who was caught by the institutions with marked money. This is clear proof that the competent institutions are doing their job, something that in the time of SDSM, Filipche and Zaev was a figment of the imagination,” the ruling party said.

The party presented the reaction immediately after Kuzeska's conference, framing it as confirmation that investigations and prosecutions are being carried out more actively than before.
