VMRO-DPMNE accuses Andrej Zhernovski of driving cousin’s Mercedes and parking improperly

VMRO-DPMNE published a Facebook post accusing SDSM executive board member and secretary for international cooperation Andrej Zhernovski of again driving a Mercedes that he has previously said was not his, and of parking improperly while discarding trash.

In the post, party spokesperson Valentin Manasievski shared photographs he says show Zhernovski getting into a Mercedes after having thrown rubbish into a nearby container. Manasievski writes that the vehicle is the same Mercedes Zhernovski had earlier insisted was not his.

Manasievski also included a framed allegation in the Facebook text: "Andrej 'NATO' Zhernovski in the style of Artan 'Lottery' Grubi, drives the car of the 'cousin'. After he clearly said a few months ago on a podcast that he does not own a Mercedes car, with license plates of the same number, nor that he has ever in his life driven a Mercedes owned by his cousin, I again with my own eyes saw the unsuccessful ambassador Zhernovski driving the 'Mercedes'."

The post includes a photograph Manasievski says shows Zhernovski parked improperly while disposing of trash. Commenting on that image, Manasievski wrote: "But Zhernovski does not care, because even if they fine him for illegal stopping, the car is not his, his cousin will pay the fine."

The Facebook message from VMRO-DPMNE's spokesperson does not include a response from Zhernovski within the published material. The party’s post frames the images and the caption as evidence of contradictory statements about the car's ownership and of improper parking behavior.

Questions about vehicle ownership and public conduct by political figures often prompt calls for clarification; in this case, VMRO-DPMNE has presented photographic material and a written claim on social media, while no comment from Andrej Zhernovski is contained in the published post.
