Brvenica holds mobile voting for 88 sick and immobile voters and nine detainees
The municipal election commission says mobile teams started visits today; the early mayoral vote is set for tomorrow.

Mobile voting began today in Brvenica for voters who cannot leave their homes: 88 people classified as sick or immobile and nine detainees are scheduled to cast ballots ahead of tomorrow’s early mayoral election.
Members of several polling boards are already out in the field to carry out the home and detention-centre visits, while the remaining election staff at the Municipal Election Commission are finishing preparations for the main round. "All polling boards are informed, and today voting will begin for detainees and for immobile and sick persons," said Nedime Salai, chair of the Municipal Election Commission Brvenica.
Voter roll and logistics
According to the State Election Commission decision, the electoral roll for the municipality was closed with a total of 16,256 registered voters. Across Brvenica’s 24 polling stations, the mobile teams will visit those 88 voters who are unable to vote at the stations.
Salai said that all elements of the election process are being run in accordance with the Code for Fair and Democratic Elections and that teams have been briefed for today’s visits. "So far the Code for fair and democratic elections has been respected. We have no reports of irregularities or incidents, and we hope that tomorrow the electoral process will run as it seems to us as citizens," she said.
Tomorrow residents of the municipality will vote in the early local election for mayor. The early vote was triggered after the municipality’s mayor died on June 23, 2026, at the age of 58.
Election officials expect the main voting period to last 12 hours and say they have prepared protocols to ensure that both today’s mobile voting and tomorrow’s polling proceed without disruption.
