Exhibition at Church of St. Spas marks 80 years since transfer of Goce Delchev’s remains

An exhibition opened at the Church of St. Spas in Skopje dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the transfer of Goce Delchev’s remains to the city.

Display highlights and materials

On twelve panels the exhibition presents segments of Delchev’s life and work, a selection of his letters, and archival correspondence between the two governments that arranged the transfer of his remains from Sofia to Skopje.

The organizers said the material aims to place the transfer in its historical context and to remind the public of Delchev’s role in the region’s modern history. The panels combine text, reproductions of documents and photographs related to his biography and the repatriation process.

The exhibition is housed inside the church building and is intended for visitors interested in the cultural and political history connected to Delchev. Curators emphasized the importance of original documents in explaining the diplomatic and administrative steps behind the transfer.

Visitors can view the twelve panels during the church's opening hours; further information and any accompanying events will be announced by the church authorities.
