Safe City traffic cameras start operating in Veles on September 12, 2026

The Ministry of Interior announced that the "Safe City" traffic surveillance system will begin operating in the area covered by the Regional Police Directorate in Veles on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

According to the ministry, technical checks and final testing have been completed and the system's cameras will be put into service on roads within the Veles police district.

“With the activation of the system, enhanced and continuous traffic control will be enabled, the timely detection of traffic violations, increased traffic discipline and improvement of road safety.”

What drivers should know

The Ministry said the system will allow authorities to monitor traffic more continuously and respond faster to violations, with the stated aim of raising overall road safety in the district.

Officials also urged drivers to follow traffic rules and regulations and to behave responsibly on the road so that the new system helps reduce accidents and unsafe driving.

The activation date given by the Ministry is Saturday, September 12, 2026; the surveillance cameras will start operating after the completed technical inspections.
