Emergency rodent-control operation in Centar Municipality after rise in sightings
The action covers Kapishtec, Debar Maalo, Bunjakovec and Kale; Mayor Goran Gerasimimovski urged residents to report sightings so authorities can respond.

Centar Municipality has launched an emergency rodent-control operation in central Skopje after a rise in citizen reports about increased rodent activity.
The campaign will run today and tomorrow and targets several neighbourhoods, the municipality said. Mayor Goran Gerasimimovski announced the measure and asked residents to keep reporting any new sightings so crews can respond promptly.
"Following reports from citizens about increased appearance of rodents, we immediately respond in the field. We will monitor the situation in the coming days and, if necessary, we will react at other locations. I call on citizens to continue to report where there is a problem, so that we can act in time," Gerasimimovski wrote in a Facebook post.
Areas and sites covered by the operation
The deratization work covers locations in Kapishtec, Debar Maalo, Bunjakovec and Kale. Teams will treat areas around garbage containers and manholes, the small market in Bunjakovec, and the stretch between the Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi primary school and the Embassy of Greece.
Crews will also operate near the premises of the Public Enterprise "Komunalna Higiena" and close to the buildings of the Institute for Sports Medicine and the Customs Administration by Kale.
Centar Municipality urged caution for pedestrians and residents while the action is under way and said it will continue to follow the situation and expand treatments to other sites if needed.
