Driver of 'Fiat' ran over a woman in Gjorche and fled
The police reported that on August 5 at around 21:20 a car struck a 48-year-old woman who has been hospitalized with serious injuries.

A 48-year-old woman was seriously injured after a passenger vehicle hit her in the Skopje neighborhood of Gjorche Petrov, and the driver fled the scene leaving the injured woman on the asphalt, the police reported.
"On 05.08.2026 at 21:20 hours, it was reported to the Skopje Police Department that at the intersection of Boris Sarafov Street and Krsto Rakovski Street in Skopje, a passenger vehicle "Fiat" struck 48-year-old A.S.K. from Skopje and left the scene. In the accident, A.S.K. sustained serious bodily injuries, as certified at the Public Health Institution City General Hospital 'St. Naum Ohridski' Skopje. An investigative team from the Skopje Police Department carried out an inspection and measures are being taken to find the driver and to fully clarify the case," reads the police bulletin.
The hospital's statement says that the injured woman was admitted and diagnosed with serious bodily injuries; she remains under further treatment and observation by medical staff.
Search for the driver
The investigative team of the Skopje Police Department carried out an inspection at the scene and the police are undertaking operational-investigative measures to find the driver and fully clarify the case. The vehicle is described as a "Fiat", but so far there are no additional details about the owner or the license plate.
The police are calling on witnesses or anyone who has recordings of the incident around 21:20 on August 5, 2026 to report the information to the nearest police station. Investigators say the case is ongoing.
